Trường Đại học Sư phạm Hà Nội (ĐHSPHN) chính thức được thành lập ngày 11/10/1951 theo Nghị định của Bộ Quốc gia Giáo dục. Với vị trí là trường Sư phạm trọng điểm trong hệ thống giáo dục quốc dân, Nhà trường luôn nỗ lực nâng cao chất lượng trong giảng dạy, nghiên cứu, từ đó trở thành người dẫn dắt tích cực trong quá trình hiện đại hoá và phát triển của giáo dục nước nhà.
Hội thảo khoa học quốc tế Đổi mới sáng tạo trong giảng dạy và đào tạo giáo viên (Innovation in Learning Instruction and Teacher Education) được tổ chức hai năm/lần với mục đích tạo cơ hội giao lưu, trao đổi học thuật quốc tế và phổ biến các kết quả nghiên cứu; nâng cao năng lực nghiên cứu, bồi dưỡng đội ngũ phục vụ đổi mới chương trình đào tạo theo chiến lược phát triển của ngành. Hội thảo lần thứ nhất phối hợp cùng Đại học Southern Cross (Australia) được tổ chức năm 2019 với sự tài trợ của Quỹ Phát triển KHCN Quốc gia và Chương trình ETEP, đã thu hút hơn 250 học giả trong nước và quốc tế từ 10 quốc gia như Australia, Đức, Hoa Kì, Thái Lan, Đài Loan, Singapore, Pháp... Tháng 12 năm 2021, phối hợp với nhiều trường Đại học quốc tế, Nhà trường tiếp tục tổ chức hội thảo lần thứ hai với chủ đề: Đổi mới sáng tạo vì sự phát triển bền vững của giáo dục trong bối cảnh biến động.
